After plenty of speculation, Denis Suarez's future has been resolved with he player set to join Arsenal.
Both Barcelona and the English side have been locked in negotiations, and have finally come to an agreement. The Blaugrana will receive 2.5 million euros for a loan until the end of the season, though there is no stipulation for Arsenal to buy the player outright.
Should the Gunners want to make the move permanent then they will have to negotiate a fee with Barcelona at a later date. Suarez and Barcelona managed to come to an agreement over his contract with will see the midfielder sign a one-year extension, from 2020 to 2021, with an increased salary.
The club's initial offer was for a reduced wage. As a result, Barcelona won't have a situation similar to that of Munir El Haddadi, who recently moved to Sevilla in a cut-price deal, given his contract only had a few months to run.
Suarez also had options from Real Betis and Sevilla, who did make permanent transfer offers. However, the player wanted to move to the Premier League, a competition he is familiar with after spending time at Manchester City.
