Austria v Poland Prediction

March 20, 2019

Looking at Austria v Poland Prediction, Poland head to Austria for their opening game in Euro 2020 qualifying looking for their first win in nine months.

Jerzy Brzeczek's side have failed to claim a victory in any of their last six games and finished bottom of their Nations League group, which also consisted of Portugal and Italy.

Austria, meanwhile, have won seven of their last nine home games in all competitions, with Brazil the only side to win on Austrian soil in the last three years.

Austria are offered at 5/4 (2.25) with bet365 to claim a victory at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion.

Poland claimed creditable draws in their two away games in the National League against Italy and Portugal and another stalemate is offered at 11/5 (3.20). Three points for the visitors can be backed at 23/10 (3.30).

Team news

Austria have had a few players withdraw from the squad through injury, including Schalke striker Guido Burgstaller. West Ham forward Marko Arnautovic is likely to lead the line for the hosts, looking to add to his tally of 20 goals in 77 caps.

Poland have no major injury issues, with the manager's only headache choosing between Arkadiusz Milik and Krzysztof Piatek as Robert Lewandowski's strike partner.

Austria v Poland Preview

Poland's forward line has enough quality to trouble most defences and the side's scoring record on the road has been strong.

In their qualifying campaign for last year's World Cup they scored in four of their five away matches, while netting in both of their recent Nations League away games.

Austria, for their part, have scored in ten of their last 12 home games and will be confident of extending that record against a Polish outfit that has conceded in its last six matches.

Austria vs Poland Predictions
Both teams to score has paid out in the six most recent meetings between these sides, and a repeat is offered at a healthy looking 5/6 (1.83).

This bet has also paid out in three of Poland's four most recent competitive fixtures and looks a solid option for a standalone bet or for inclusion in a multiple.
